Aaron and I have decided to start wearing ear plugs to bed so that we can try and let Jake start to cry it out at night. We are both exhausted from him getting up every 3 hours again. Last night worked good. He got up and had a bottle around 9:30 and was no worse for wear this morning at 6:45.
I feel bad doing this, but everyone (including his pediatrician) has told us we just need to let him cry. We are thinking that it has become a habit for him to get up and are hoping with a few days of not "rewarding" him for his middle of the night melt down sessions, he will start sleeping all the way through the night.
Morgan on the other hand, goes down around 7:15 and doesn't wake up until after 6. What a good sleeper. She can even sleep through Jakes middle of the night temper tantrums! Not sure how since they wake me up and I am on the other side of the house with the door shut and she is in the same room with him...I guess it is a twin thing!
Wish us luck!

I Found It
After about 4 months of being missing, I have finally found my engagement ring!!! It somehow had been knocked into the cabinet under my sink (which I swear I never even go into!)
Anyway, I am happy to have it back now. No more blaming the cats or the kids for eating it!

Eliana's 1st Birthday Party
We attended Eliana's 1st birthday party today. Eliana's mommy is one of my friends, who I met before Morgan, Jake, and Eliana were born.
We got to play with new toys, enjoy pizza, taquitos, chips, and of course CAKE!!! We also got to watch Eliana open her presents and play with some other friends (Makenna, Grace and Graham)
Thanks Steve and LaRita for having us over to celebrate your beautiful baby's 1st birthday.

Update

Well I am sorry that I haven't done an update for a while (Aunt T and Aunt Barbie). Life has been pretty hectic.
Jake is doing well. I think he might have an ear infection that we are watching to see if we need to take him to the pediatrician. No more breathing treatments...Yeah! We have to go for repeat x-rays in about a week to make sure the pneumonia is gone. He is still not sleeping through the night, and the last few nights have been especially bad. We have been up every 3-4 hours!
Morgan is doing well (as always). She is cutting more teeth, which is making her a little crabby. I think she is up to 14 teeth and cutting 2 more! She has decided that she doesn't like her hair pulled up into pig tails or a pony tail, and screams when we do it (and then tries to run away!)
Both Morgan and Jake are starting to talk a little bit. We mostly know "No", "Uh Oh", and "Bye Bye". I haven't actually heard Jake say Bye Bye yet, but supposedly he has said it to his teacher while waving the last two nights! They are both really starting to understand what you say as well. You can ask Jake "Where's your baba (bottle)" and he will go and get it for you.
I am back almost to feeling 100%. This tonsilectomy really knocked me down. I also got a cough/cold this past weekend and couldn't talk. No fun! Being at work full time, not sleeping well, being mommy, ... is really draining when you aren't 100%
Aaron is doing well. He starts his new job on February 2nd and is looking forward to the change.
Aaron and I joined a gym by our house and we are enjoying going. We both decided that we need to live a healthier life since we now have the twins to think about. I am really enjoying my water aerobics classes.

S-H-I-T
What a crazy morning we had....
Aaron brought Morgan into the bathroom this morning after starting to change her diaper. She had slept all night so her diaper was pretty wet. He was wondering about bathing her again (we do baths at night on school nights because there isn't time in the morning). We decided to just do a "spot bath" and then dress her due to time constraints.
Get your mental image ready...
Here I am, half dressed getting ready for work. I had to stop getting ready to go and find her something to wear (you know how guys can't make clothing decisions). We left the twins in the bathroom unattended. What a surprise I received when I walked back in.
I walk back into the bathroom to find both of my children finger painting the carpet with the pooh Morgan has so kindly deposited on the floor. Morgan has pooh all over her leg, foot, arm and hand (yuck)! Needless to say, both babies got a shower this morning.
So in my remaining 30 minutes I had before I had to leave for work, I got to dry off both babies, diaper them (not making that mistake again) and dress them, dress me, dry my hair, dry the twins hair, make my lunch....
All of this before 7am and I hadn't had any coffee yet!!!
Moral of the story...never leave an undiapered toddler alone!!!

Over The Weekend
We didn't have too eventful of a weekend this week. Morgan and Jake went back to school on Thursday and Friday and loved it. I keep thinking what am I "chopped liver", but I am happy that they are so adjusted and enjoy it so much. The first day back when I took them into their classroom, she squealed in delight and ran off to play never looking back!! They are also both doing well with all the illness we had going around.
Aaron and I joined the gym yesterday and survived through our first "gym workout" in over 3 years. Now the real question will be to see if we stick to it. I really hope we do. They have a really neat daycare center there, which the twins loved. This should make it easier to get there, or at least not use them as an excuse.
Here are a couple of pictures of Morgan. The first is after she pulled out her pony tail yesterday and was sporting the "wild hair" look. The second is today after we came home from the gym. She played so hard there she fell asleep while eating lunch. Once again, Jake didn't want to have his picture taken!!!

Christmas 2008
We spent Christmas this year out at my parents house in Argyle. We had fun riding the 4 wheeler and the 6 wheeler. We got to see the cows and even feed them some cubes. Grammy and Pap also came up to eat dinner with us.
Christmas Eve was a little bit different (and sad) for us this year. We always spend it with Aaron's family, but couldn't this year due to Jake's illness. We didn't want to make cousin Troy or Great-Granny sick. So the 4 of us just stayed home.
Morgan and Jake got lots of new toys which they have been enjoying since Christmas. Morgan even got into opening the presents (or at least ripping the wrapping paper off a box) by the afternoon. Morgan's favorite toy has to be her baby doll stroller and her rocking chair, while Jake likes this little machine that plays songs and blows balls out of a whole in the top of the toy by blowing air.
Morgan Update

Morgan has been doing pretty good compared to the rest of the family. She was on a round of antibiotics early in December for a sinus infection and then seemed to be fairly healthy. She has gotten a few new teeth and we are now up to 6 on the top and 6 on the bottom with 2 more coming through on the top. She actually accidentally bit Nana the other night when she was feeding her pizza crust! She started coughing the last few days and we took her back to the Dr also and it turns out she has a double ear infection now. They have her on antibiotics now also. We are a regular pharmacy at the Podlucky house right now.
Jake Update

Jake has also had a rough few weeks. He has been to the pediatrician 5 or 6 times in the last 2-3 weeks. We also got to try out the Pediatrix After Hours clinic on New Years Day due to a fever. It all started close to the beginning of December with the normal upper respiratory stuff. We were told to watch it and that was that. The next trip we were put on antibiotics for what appeared to be an old sinus infection and told that it probably wouldn't help that much because it was probably a virus. The third trip he was diagnosed with a virus that could be RSV (a bad virus that you have to worry about with young kids, especially preemies) and we started a different antibiotic and breathing treatments. Then he started running a fever and went back to the Dr and was diagnosed with a resistant double ear infection and put on a different antibiotic. New Years Day he still had his fever, that could be held at bay for a couple of hours after being given Tylenol, so we took him to the after hours clinic. They told us that one of his ears looked great and that one looked like it was healing so to keep him on the antibiotics and follow up with the regular Pediatrician if he wasn't better. We made it through the weekend, but he was still running a fever so we went back in to see the Dr. They ran some blood work on him and took a chest x-ray. It turns out he has pneumonia. Poor little man! He had to get two courses of antibiotics via injection at the Dr's office over the next two days. These injections were supposedly super painful, so we off set the pain with daddy's chocolate milkshake. He was also started on yet another antibiotic at home and another medicine for the Thrush he also had due to all the antibiotics!
He is definitely getting better now. He is running around and stomping his feet. Still not eating much, but I hope as he feels better he will start to eat again.
Back In The Land Of The Living
Well I am happy to finally say that I feel human again. This is the first time I have wanted to sit in front of the computer since my tonsillectomy on 12/26. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow, and I have to say that it was the worst 2 weeks of my life. I never imagined the pain would be so much, even though the ENT doctor told me I would probably need 2 weeks off work. "It will feel like an extreme case of strep throat" is a gigantic understatement of what you actually feel. Plus the older you are, the worse it is....great, remind me again why I waited until I was 33!
I spent the first few days recovering at my parents house with no babies. Aaron went and spent a few days down at Grammy and Pap's with the kiddos. I have to say that I slept away the first week in a vicodin haze. I can look back now and say that I at least got to catch up on some sleep that I have missed over the last 3 years.
I tried to eat ice cream the first day and got sick, so I am not sure if I will ever be able to eat ice cream again (or at least vanilla ice cream). So there has been a lot of soup and yogurt in my diet. I have been able to eat more solid things (with some pain - but I am tuff, yeah right) over the last few days.
The good things that came out of this is I lost 10# and I am completely off caffeine now since it hurts to drink anything but water.
Would I do this again, HELL NO! but hind sight is 20/20
